Christmas Photo Challenge

Even though December has already started, my friend (who I've known since 6th grade) posted an Instagram/Facebook "Christmas Photo Challenge" for this month. Since I am an avid photographer, I couldn't say no, and it also fits in with Project: 365.

So what exactly is the
"Christmas Photo Challenge" ?

Each day has a "theme" for the picture the person is supposed to take. It can be a subject, place, color or item.

We're tagging and following each other on Instagram (http://instagram.com/marieedwards429) and Facebook.

I'm also doing this on Twitter (http://twitter.com/MarieEdwards429) and Google + as well to include non-Instagram and Facebook friends/followers on the fun. On Twitter, I'm using hashtags for daily challenge and #ChristmasPhotoChallenge for the captions after the item's description.

Each day on Twitter, Google + and Facebook, I will be reminding everyone who chooses to participate what the daily theme is.

You're not required to do it, but it might be fun and help get into the holiday spirit. I'm going to use the Instagram application on my phone. Not only is it cool, but I am sure my camera would enjoy the break :)

To give you an idea:

(#ChristmasDecor #ChristmasPhotoChallenge)

I love that particular photo effect (Low-Fi) as it gives the "snapshot" a warm holiday feel and just looks cool :)

If you're wondering how I was able to put my "copy-right" on it, I simply removed my phone's memory card and saved the pictures to a computer file folder. With Picasa's help (using the "add text" feature), I "copyrighted" the photo. Looks professional, doesn't it?
Oh, and so you don't mess up the original file, after applying the "text", save a copy of the picture to upload it.

This is going to be fun and I am really looking forward to this challenge.

12/30/2012 UPDATE:

Tomorrow is the last day of the challenge. I can't believe I made it through it. There were times I got behind though, but I did manage to get the photo taken. It was fun and a "challenge". Looking forward to something similar but not for a long time -- this month I did miss being able to post a few pictures that I thought would have been great for Project: 365.

Hope everyone had fun with the challenge.
